Urban Renewal Mission Internship with AMC for 2011 Batch
2011 Batch students with MA students started the URMI with Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation from 19th December to 13th January. The internship was inaugurated by the Hon. Municipal Commissioner of Ahmedabad Shri. Guruprasad Mahapatra, Deputy Commissioner  Capt. Dilip Mahajan and other officers of AMC. During a month long internship, students would explore aspects of Urban Development with hands on experience. SLS students also performed at the prestigious Kankaria Carnival.

11th Dec – 8th Jan, 2011
Urban Renewal Mission Internship

First semester students of SLS along with MA students would attend one month Urban Renewal Mission Internship from 11 December 2010 to 8th January, 2011 with active support from Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. During one month internship students would visit six zones of AMC and would study in detail projects like town planning, health revenue, infrastructure and education. The internship would be inaugurated by Hon. Municipal Commissioner Shri I.P. Gautam

Rural & Community Service Internship on completion of First Year
Student is expected to spend one month in taking up Rural and Community development projects as per the organization shortlisted by the School. The Student is expected to understand various socio- economic parameters and issues related to project implementation towards betterment of human life. They will be involved in various community development activities during their regular study term.

Indian Cultural and Heritage Internship on completion of Second Year
Objectives of Explore India Program:
• The unique program will be from second year onwards
• Sense of Pride: To develop an awareness of Indian heritage and learn about our origin.
• Research Methodology: A spirit of enquiry, wonder and imagination is stimulated and sustained;
• Connectivity: The past can be related to daily life.                                    
• Students get aware of people (both belonging to past and present cultures) having different ways of life and belief systems;
• Understand Local heritage issues.
• Documentation and presentation Skills

Exploration Methodology:
• Students can choose any one heritage location and study it in all aspects from culture to architecture to people to food to develop all round understanding and thinking skills.
• Students can do detailed study on any one topic of exploration and region.

International Cultural and Heritage Internship on completion of Third Year

Major Subject Research Projects
Students are expected to carry out research projects in their major specialization areas from electives during the Third year and develop comprehensive understanding of issues while developing critical approaches around it.
